Fabiano Ventura’s pictures on show at Lumen

Today the LUMEN mountain photography museum of Plan de Corones in South Tyrol is now open to the public. It also hosts an exhibition created with Fabiano Ventura’s images.

In the building of the former station upstream of the Plan de Corones cable car at 2275 meters, which has become a futuristic architectural structure, Ventura’s images and his project “On the traces of the glaciers” will be represented in different forms, from the most traditional to more technological: a photographic comparison icon of the project printed in fine-art by 2.5 meters; 10 other photographic comparisons will be presented in fading on large touch screen monitors; the backstage images of the 5 shipments projected in loop on a vertical monitor; the trailers of the documentaries made during the expeditions in Karakorum, Caucasus, Alaska, Andes and Himalayas screened in high definition in the Dia Horama section.

In the 1800 square meters of the museum, which unfolds on four floors, it will be possible to admire, in addition to Ventura’s photos, historical photographs and digital innovations, temporary exhibitions and spectacular productions ranging from alpinism, tourism, politics and spirituality. to history. Giving space to the different perspectives and forms of artistic expression with which the mountain environment can be portrayed, Lumen sets itself the goal of becoming a center of excellence on mountain photography.
